Senior R&D Technical Writer

Join our team to deliver high quality documentation for Hitachi Energy Mission Critical Communication systems. You will work on a cutting-edge communication solution applicable in a wide range of industries evolving in the digital age. It is a unique opportunity for you to participate in international projects in interdisciplinary, talented teams delivering high reliability network solutions.

Your Responsibilities

  • Create and update product documentation and descriptions without oversight
  • Cooperate with Product Managers, Designers, Developers and other Technical Writers
  • Talk to development teams and SMEs to clarify feature details and specifications
  • Take the lead of documentation projects
  • Share your knowledge with other team members
  • Inspect features and learn how our software works to become a subject matter expert
  • Generate and commit built-in help for Network Management System software
  • Create end-user targeted documentation packages and publish them on a company portal.
  • Create and modify simple scripts for automatic GUIs views capturing

Your background

  • Bachelor's degree or higher in technical writing, English, Communications, Engineering or a related area of study
  • Fluent English (both written and spoken)
  • At least 6 years in a similar role with some experience of writing for technical audiences
  • Excellent writing, editing and proofreading skills to prepare easy-to-read text in plain English
  • Practical knowledge of using international style guides for writing in English is beneficial
  • Experience in working with a docs-as-code workflow and ability to prepare simple code samples is an advantage
  • Experience with technical writing tools (e.g. Adobe FrameMaker), content management systems, source control systems (Git), Azure DevOps
